2008 World Finals Spectators

Thank you for your interest in the Odyssey of the Mind 2008 World Finals. Team supporters and spectators are a very important aspect of the World Finals experience. By supporting these teams, you are encouraging and rewarding creative thinking in students around the world. This is why all OotM events are free and open to the public. Below are helpful links to make WF as fun for you as it will be for teams:

Opening and Awards Ceremonies:
Join the thousands of excited participants, volunteers, and special guests, including NASA representatives, in celebrating creativity worldwide. These events are full of energy and fun. While they are free to attend, a ticket is required for entry to the Comcast Arena. Pick up your tickets from the Odyssey Information Booth located at Stamp Union on the day of the event.

Team Performances:
World Finals teams are the most outstanding creative minds in the world, so you are sure to be entertained by unique performances, costumes, art, inventions, and much more. All performances are free to attend. Find a specific team, or a team from your area, online at: www.odysseyofthemind.com/wf2008/state_schedule.php. The schedule will be posted on May 12th. You can also pick up a World Finals program at the Odyssey Information Booth. It lists the competition times, as well as a schedule of events.

There are lots of other fun activities at World Finals:

Creativity Festival: Creative challenges, fun crafts, NASA, and much more make up the Odyssey of the Mind Creativity Festival. Meet new people and have fun at booths made by participating states/countries. The important Ranatra Fusca trophy is on display here as well as OMER's impressive pin collection. You can also purchase Odyssey of the Mind souvenirs. The Creativity Festival is free to attend, tokens to participate in activities will be sold and used as a prize for the most creative booth at the festival. (Insert creativity fest. Sched. International Festival: Teams from abroad display authentic, indigenous items from their home countries. Imagine a trip around the world all in one room! Look at or purchase unique wares from the many different cultures that make up Odyssey of the Mind. Money teams make often help fund their trips to the United States.

Float & Banner Parade: Each participating state/country creates the most creative, often funny, floats or banners for the parade. It is a chance for teams to show off their creativity and state pride. Winners are chosen at the end for the most creative floats and banners. Show up and cheer for your state or country! Will take place at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, June 1st .

Guest speakers, Dr. Sam, and OMER will be there to support these creative graduates. Afterwards, it's the coaches' chance to show off their wild, creative sides by solving a special Odyssey of the Mind problem complete with inventive solutions and funny costumes!

NASA: As Odyssey sponsors and world-renowned creative thinkers, NASA scientists will provide special activities and E-Theater presentations. All events are free, see schedule for more details. NASA volunteers will also be manning its popular booth at the Creativity Festival.
